Guided bus tour starts at downtown Savannah and travels the Montezuma Wetlands Complex.

      Join us and tour the wonders of the Montezuma 
      Wetlands Complex, a Migratory bird and

freshwater wetlands paradise. Come see waterfowl, marsh birds, hawks, eagles and other wildlife as the bus travels through this working landscape of the State, Federal and private lands managed for wildlife conservation. Our Savannah community, in cooperation with the New york State DEC, the Montezuma Audubon Center and US Fish and Wildlife Service, is proud to invite you to enjoy a guided tour through these three special areas.

  


 Howland’s Island

Behind the scenes tour of Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area.
Special focus on Howland’s Island, a 3500 acre island in the Senecal River.
Highlights of the Island’s rich history and unique landscape of managed wetlands, grasslands and woods.
Wildlife experienced through hands-on activities for all ages.		  


 Montezuma Audubon Center

 		  

Facility decated to educating the public and to the conservation of birds and other wildlife.
Exhibits of John James Audubon’s works and local artifacts.
Beautiful vistas and trails for viewing wetlands and wildlife habitat.

A Nature store filled with great gifts for family and friends.

 Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge

  One of the Northeast’s premier national wildlife refuges dedicated to conserving the nature of America.
Nearly 10,000 acres with breathtaking views of marshland, grassland and forest.
Home to bald eagles, tens of thousands of water fowl, migrating songbirds and other wildlife.
Visitor Center and gift shop to delight all ages and walks of life.
